As Quality Manager, your main task is overseeing all quality-related activities for the site, ensuring compliance with stringent aerospace and customer standards. Managing FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports) is a central responsibility, as well as leading the development, maintenance, and progression of the Quality Management System (QMS). You will work closely with engineering and production teams to improve existing processes and drive ongoing quality improvements. Your role also covers conducting audits, managing corrective and preventive actions, and ensuring all documentation and procedures are accurate and up to date.
Your daily impact will go beyond process compliance—you’ll analyse quality performance data, provide critical recommendations, and lead, mentor, and develop other quality team members. Your experience in managing QMS systems and relevant standards will be essential, alongside your ability to interpret technical drawings and apply problem-solving tools like 8D and Ishikawa. In summary, the position demands a mix of technical skill, structured leadership, and the drive to push continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
Pros of the Opportunity
One of the standout features of this role is the genuinely competitive pay and bonus structure. The salary range is strong for quality management, and the company offers a bonus scheme that can increase total earnings significantly. The package includes extra annual leave, bank holidays, an attractive pension scheme, and a commitment to long-term staff development through ongoing training. These benefits signal a positive, employee-focused workplace where your growth is valued. Additionally, being able to influence engineering improvements in a regulated sector helps strengthen your CV and future options.
Μειονεκτήματα που πρέπει να λάβετε υπόψη
Some may find the level of responsibility demanding, especially due to leadership expectations and audit requirements. The emphasis on compliance with aerospace and quality standards means attention to detail is always critical—mistakes are costly. The need to manage multiple stakeholders, as well as handle difficult root cause analyses, can be stressful at busy times, particularly when customer or supplier issues arise. While hours are generally daytime and flexible, workload spikes may require additional effort to keep standards on track.
