As a Teacher of Design & Technology and Food Tech, your primary responsibility revolves around planning and delivering engaging lessons. You’ll guide students through practical tasks and creative challenges, sparking enthusiasm for hands-on learning.
Classroom management and maintaining a safe, productive environment are fundamental. You’re expected to use effective teaching methods and follow school behaviour policies.
Assessment is an ongoing part of your routine, from marking students’ work according to policy to setting and reviewing homework. You will monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
There will be liaison with other staff, participation in meetings, and involvement in extra-curricular activities. You’ll also engage with parents, updating them regularly on student progress.
Special attention is given to supporting students with Special Educational Needs, including working closely with the SENCO to develop and implement Individual Education Plans as required.
